The St Gerard Majella Family and Community Engagement Team (FACET) (formerly Parents and Friends Association) is very active and is a wonderful support to the school. The FACET meets each month with a view to share ideas, engage with staff and contribute to the life of the school.
Parents have a say in what the funds raised are spent on, as do staff. These projects originate from the School Annual Plan which is developed by the Principal and staff. Some of the activities they carry out throughout the year include:
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls
- Colour Run biennial
- Fete biennial
- Second Hand Uniform Shop
- Grant Applications
- Cairns Festival Parade Float
- Parent social events
- Working Bees
